A pan-European FMCG manufacturer and distributor
The client wished to provide a complete supply chain solution for its products across Europe (manufacturing, customer services and distribution) by integrating a new contract with one of its key customers with whom they were already engaged. Progress in certain territories was hampered by a number of factors including internal resource, capability constraints and a lack of clarity around the key strategic issues.
OWL worked with both the client and their customers’ executive teams to review, identify and clarify the most appropriate strategic direction and supply chain operation for implementation in 2 major European territories.
This resulted in the development and ratification of a proposed supply chain strategy which was accepted and signed off by all parties. An outline implementation plan was also produced to enable the client to focus on making the necessary changes.
The proposal recommended fundamental changes to, and a rationalisation of, the existing distribution model which resulted in more efficient operations and reduced overall costs for both parties.
